Naples was the capital of the Kingdom of Naples in Italy, and as such was infused with a wide variety of dishes from the whole Campania region. Opening their doors in 1957, the Pizzeria Napoletana is one of the oldest restaurants in Cape Town, South Africa. After stepping on South African soil direct from Italy, the owners Luigi and Maria Barletta wanted to offer their new country a taste of the traditional Italian Neapolitan culture; and still today the family restaurant stands strong offering the same quality cuisine as it did those many years ago.
